Acupuncture For Athletes

Athletes and coaches are constantly searching for ways to improve performance and gain a competitive advantage over their rivals, and many find that acupuncture can often provide that advantage. Some of the best Olympic athletes are incorporating acupuncture into their wellness programs; China’s most popular sportsman, basketball superstar Yao Ming, used acupuncture to help him recover after surgery on his ankle in 2007. Studies have shown that acupuncture has measurable effects on the flow of blood to different areas of the body, possibly boosting boost performance, and can also be used to control pain, increase range of motion, improve the healing process, and help decrease swelling, spasms and inflammation.

Tonics Spa & Salon offers acupuncture with Dr. Andrew Grubbs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4pm to 7pm. To schedule an appointment, call 527-4001 ext. 122. For more information, click here
